Vampire enters another world to seek Kim So-jin

Living with 7 vampires

The vampires’ entry into The Mirror World in search of Jin is a decisive rescue expedition: it transforms private fear over his disappearance into a collective act of loyalty, while establishing the mirror as a traversable but threatening boundary between worlds. Y/N leads the group toward that boundary despite being weakened by the water snake’s poison, and the expedition ends with Jin’s discovery inside a stone prison and his release by the others.

Causes and Threshold Crossing

The immediate cause of the expedition is Jin’s absence. After the others return to their rooms, Y/N remains focused on him and assures Jin that help is coming, even while numbness lingers in Y/N’s leg from the water snake and a heavy feeling develops in Y/N’s head. The rescue therefore begins under physical strain rather than confidence: the group is acting because Jin is missing, not because the route is safe or fully understood.

The mirror becomes the chosen route because Y/N knows how to pass through it. V and Jungkook return from the kitchen carrying a bag that probably contains food and drinks, and the group gathers in front of the mirror. J-Hope asks whether they only need to go through and swim, and Y/N confirms that this is the method. Jimin then pushes Y/N forward into the mirror before the others follow. The action is abrupt and communal at once: the expedition begins with Y/N being sent across first, followed by protest from everyone else and then the group’s decision to enter together.

The Passage and the Search

Once inside, Y/N is initially alone and complains that the others had better hurry. Within a few minutes, however, the vampires enter one by one. J-Hope reacts to the realm’s sparkling appearance, while RM immediately asks how they can find the other side. These details establish The Mirror World as visually unfamiliar and spatially uncertain. The group has crossed the boundary, but arrival does not provide orientation; the rescue still requires searching through a place whose geography is not apparent.

The expedition also reverses the pattern of Y/N’s earlier passage through the mirror. Previously, a shadow pulled Y/N inside after Jin’s body fell to the ground, and the mirror felt like water. In this rescue attempt, Y/N’s knowledge of that medium makes deliberate travel possible, allowing the vampires to use the same dangerous threshold as an entrance rather than merely endure it as an instrument of capture. The mirror is consequently both a route toward reunion and a reminder that movement between worlds can be controlled by forces hostile to the travelers.

Discovery of Jin

The search leads the group to a small cave that resembles a stone prison. Inside, they see the outline of a person, and everyone recognizes the figure as Jin. The discovery gives the expedition a concrete object: the missing companion is not simply lost but confined. The cave’s prison-like construction makes the rescue a physical problem, while Jin’s presence confirms that the group has reached the correct location.

Jin explains that the stone is weak enough to break. Jimin seizes one of the stone bars, pulling and pushing it before kicking against it until a small pillar falls. Jungkook helps Jimin, as does RM, and the group continues removing pillars until Jin can slowly get outside. The rescue depends on repeated, cooperative effort rather than a single display of supernatural power. Each fallen pillar converts recognition into action, and Jin’s gradual emergence preserves the sense that liberation is difficult even after the prisoners’ weakness has been identified.

Reunion and Consequences

As soon as Jin gets out, Y/N embraces him and apologizes. The hug is the emotional culmination of the expedition: the journey has not merely located Jin but restored physical contact after separation, imprisonment, and uncertainty. Y/N’s apology also shows that the rescue is experienced personally, not only as a group mission. The reunion binds the danger of The Mirror World to the vampires’ responsibility toward one another.

Jin later reveals that the events surrounding the others involved powers, sacrifice, and forced forgetting. He explains that he sacrificed his own power, which caused the other seven to be locked inside the mirror, and used what remained of that power to make them forget that other people had ever been there after they were badly wounded. This revelation deepens the meaning of the rescue. Jin is not only a captive recovered from a stone enclosure; he is also someone whose earlier sacrifice shaped the mirror imprisonment and the survivors’ damaged memories. The expedition therefore retrieves a witness whose knowledge can clarify how the supernatural conflict has repeatedly been organized through confinement, sacrifice, and the control of memory.

Narrative Significance

The expedition follows a compact sequence of absence, decision, threshold crossing, search, discovery, coordinated struggle, and reunion. Its structure echoes the wider pattern of the story, in which characters are repeatedly separated across hostile spaces and must use mirrors, bodily endurance, and mutual assistance to restore connection. Yet the rescue is not a simple return to safety. Y/N remains physically affected by the water snake’s poison, the group enters an unstable realm without a clear map, and Jin’s account reveals that rescue is inseparable from the costs already paid to protect the others.

The event also changes the meaning of the mirror. It is a prison because the other seven were confined within it, a weapon because Y/N was pulled through it by a shadow, and a passage because the vampires can enter it intentionally. That ambiguity gives the rescue its lasting importance: the same boundary that enables disappearance becomes the means of pursuit, and the same world associated with captivity becomes the site where collective action recovers Jin and reopens the suppressed history of the group.
